Federation of Holistic Therapists’ Congress July 2014
IMPACT PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
In July Donna Davis, from Go Wellbeing cic, presented at the Federation of Holistic Therapist’s Congress, alongside Anne Crease from Touchline Training Ltd (based in Devon).
They delivered a seminar entitled ‘Enhancing Young Lives – Working as an Independent Therapist’ as well as hosting an interactive workshop for FHT members, providing the opportunity to experience a typical school based stress management and wellbeing session -‘Chill Skills for Students’.
The session teaches teenagers a set of important skills to help them understand how their bodies react to stress. They learn simple, adaptable and effective relaxation techniques, all designed for use in the classroom and at home.
20 FHT members attended the workshop which used relaxation techniques and resources from the IMPACT Wellbeing Programme (Workplace Wellbeing for young people and adults), which was originally created by Touchline Training and is a FHT accredited short course.
There are also IMPACT Programmes for staff in the workplace, people receiving care or working in the care sector, and a Kind Hands programme for Early Years children, their families and carers.
Donna Davis is a trained IMPACT instructor, qualified to either deliver the Programme or train instructors. She is passionate about the wellbeing of young members of our community and works with schools and educational establishments across Worcestershire and the West Midlands. In 2013 she received the FHT national Excellence Award for her research into the benefits of the Massage in Schools Programme.
